Well, obviously, we’d seen them [The Beatles] on television and on this particular day, we went to the pictures, me and my friend Elaine, I can’t remember what we went to see. So these three lads sat behind us ask “do you want to see the Beatles tomorrow? Meet us outside here” Yeah, ok! They were the support act, I want to say ‘Screaming’ something. I know one were called Dave. So they picked us up, took us there and as they were the support band we didn’t have to pay. We were at front, I was as near to John Lennon as you are from me now. It were really full, it was. I would have been in a short skirt at that time, dancing.
[Interviewer: did you see those lads again?]
Pat: No, just never seen them again. They asked us to go in and that were it, I can’t remember them taking us home. They got me the autographs.
I really can’t remember how I got home. We must have got dropped off at Manor Top but I can’t remember walking. I didn’t get in until after midnight, I remember I got “where have you been?!!” [laughs]

Research note: The support act referred to by Pat was likely The Screaming Howling Horror of Fitzalan Square.
